Daniel Rousse,

Daniel R. Rousse completed a Ph.D in heat transfer at McGill University (1994) after serving as a mechanical engineer for the Doppelmayer Ski Lifts Co (1985-1987).  He his actually appointed as a professor in the department of mechanical engineering of École de technologie supérieure in Canada and in the department of applied sciences of Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.  He currently holds the industrial research chair in technologies of energy and energy efficiency (T3E) at École de technologie supérieure.
Daniel Rousse was a researcher at the Energy Diversification Laboratory, Canada (1994-1995) when he accepted a position as assistant professor of mechanical engineering in Université Laval, Canada, where he became full professor in 2004.  He then became vice-president – development at Université du Québec à Rimouski (2004-2007) before being director of development of the Université du Québec network based in Québec city (2007-2009).
Daniel Rousse is also a visiting professor at Université d’Artois (2005-2009).  He published more than 100 articles in scientific and technical journals, obtained more than 1,2M$ in research grants and contracts, and supervised more than 30 students at the masters and Ph.D. levels.

Research Interests: The research program of Prof. Rousse is focussing on major issues addressing the development and exploitation of energy technologies and energy efficiency. The research activities are oriented toward the development of combined fundamental and applied expertise in: (1) better integration of industrial processes in order to save energy; (2) improvement of the existing buildings energy performance; (3) sustainable design of novel buildings and processes.
The research activities of Prof. Rousse are an original blend of sponsored and fundamental research.  The current research activities are related to phase change materials and radiative heat transfer.
